Koran

Koran is a holly book for all Muslims. It is a set of all possible rules for those people who profess Islam. It is a code of criminal, administrative and civil laws. It is a peculiarity of Islam religion. There are holly books for all religions but Islam is the only religion according to rules of which words written in holly book are recognized as set of unbreakable legislative rules.

Koran was written upon the words of Mohammed the prophet. Muslims believe that Koran was pronounced for Mohammed part by part and those parts were recordered by followers of Mohammed as he was an illiterate one. Koran consists of 144 surahs and it is ordered in Koran according to their size: from the largest one to the smallest one.

Each surah consists of ayahs. The number of ayahs in surah conditions its size. All of the surahs of Koran begin with words "In the name of Allah, merciful and true" except the ninth surah. These words in Arabian sounds like this "Bismi Llahi-R-rahmani-R-rahim". The largest surah of Koran is the second surah, it consists of 286 ayahs. The smallest surahs are the 108th, 110th and 103rd and those surahs consist of only three ayahs.

Every Muslim person is obliged to read Koran. There are also a set of rules about the manner of reading it. It is obligatory for one to say "A'yzy bi-l-Lahi min ush shaitani-r-radjim" which means "Resort to the protection of Allah against evil provided by Devil, which is persecuted with stones". It is also necessary read Koran only in places where there are no other people who can disturb one who is reading.
