Ramadan

As you may have already known Ramadan is a feast of Muslims. It is like a Great Lent for Christianity. It is obligatory for every single person who professes Islam to keep the Ramadan. Ramadan is a name for month according to Muslim lunar calendar. So, there is no one fixed date for the beginning of it. The date when Ramadan starts is different for every year. It is a sacred duty for all Muslims.
There are also people who are allowed not to keep the Ramadan lent. They are people who are not able to keep it because of their health or other reasons. It is also allowed not to keep Ramadan for woman during their periods. Though, they are obliged to perform certain actions appropriate for Ramadan after their periods are over. Those who are old and so can't keep Ramadan also have to fulfill this duty in different way.
They have to provide those who are in need with food in order to fulfill Ramadan in this way. And every person who wasn't able to keep Ramadan for some reasons has to keep it once those reasons are disposed. It is forbidden for people to eat anything from the morning namaz till the evening namaz. One who brakes the lent will have to do something in order to compensate its breaking.
After the Ramadan is over there is another feast that is recognized as ending of Ramadan. That feast is called Uraza Bairam. The Uraza Bairam lasts for three days and it is the end for Ramadan. During those three days Muslims wear their best clothes and visit each other in order to congratulate each other with Uraza Bairan feast.
