Shariah

Shariah is the body of canonical law based on the Koran that lays down certain duties and penalties for Muslims. There are a lot of rules and regulations provided for Muslim by their holly book Koran. Those rules and regulations are obligatory for all Muslims who are of the full legal age. There is no way for one to run counter the laws of Shariah if he or she is of full legal age.

All actions that run counter regulations and restrictions of Koran are called haram. The one who performs action recognized as haram will be punished and he won't be a son of Allah anymore. There are two kinds of haram according to Shariah. The first kind of haram is the haram that causes harm for those who surround one but causes no harm for one who sins.

The second kind of haram is such haram that harms only one who sins and causes no harm for people who surround him. To this kind of haram belongs drinking, smoking and so on and so forth. Actually, according to Shariah all of the things that dim one's minds are recognized as haram. It is possible to be forgiven for one who performed haram of the first kind in case if a person forgives him. Though, there will be a lot of problems for one who has sinned against himself.

There are also punishments for sins people perform. Those punishments are provided by Koran and those are way different from punishments common for European people. There are such punishments common for Muslim countries: beating with stones, beheading, cutting off hand for theft, a hundred beats for adultery, 80 beats for lie and penalty for manslaughter.
